OUR PASSION

We have a passion for Classic and Contemporary Indian Cuisine. Our Chefs have over 40 years of experience. We use a range of authentic cooking techniques paired with an array of spices to create a quintessentially Indian dish.

OUR STORY

The family legacy started back in the late 1970s when Khaled Miah worked in a West Kensington restaurant where he established a passion for cooking Indian Cuisine. In 1980, he moved to Cirencester where he then worked for 40 years.

After 5 years of working for his Uncle, Foyez Rahman took over the restaurant. In 2020, when the restaurant decided to close it's doors, Foyez was determined not to see the legacy end; thus Asha was created.

'Asha' means ‘Hope’ and ‘Prospect’ which reflects the family legacy Foyez feels so passionate about. It is also representative of the new collaboration between Asha and hospitality neighbours; The Relish Group. A natural fusion of two businesses -  both long-established and highly regarded within the catering industry, with a similar ethos and passion.

January 2021 saw the launch of ASHA INDIAN KITCHEN as a pop-up Takeaway, located at Somewhere Else in Castle Street - an already well-established venue in Cirencester. Over the months that followed, it was clear customers were keen to enjoy this contemporary style fusion between east and west cuisine as a sit-in dining experience, so when Covid allowed, bookings were introduced along with a new street style menu and Somewhere Else was awash with happy, regular and frequently visiting customers.

The takeaway menu still continues to delight with over 40 dishes across meat, fish and vegetable options, plus more than 25 side options, whilst the new street food menu simply enhances this offering and takes it one step further.

Coupled with a cocktail, beer or fine wine from Somewhere Else, you'll be hard pressed to find a more delicious, contemporary Indian dining experience anywhere in the Cotswolds.
